The blade comes sharp and has good edge retention. 

The blade sizes are designed for vertical and horizontal orientations of a credit card with some extra allowance to slide in. The slots will leave 1mm on both sides of the card, you can also punch a 1mm hole punch on the sides of the slot for additional strength if needed.
