This leather roughing tool is a really handy tool to prepare your leather to glue. When glueing certain leathers together, especially on the grain side, they can be smooth and difficult to achieve a strong glue adhesion. You may have in the past handled this task by using a scratch awl or sharp tool to rough up the surface which felt inefficient. We are excited to have a tool to make this task much easier!

The roughing tool has a unique micro etched pattern on the bottom of the tool giving it a balanced grit/texture that roughs the leather in a controllable way. The blade width is 5mm giving you a wide surface to rough up a large amount of leather quickly but isn't too wide to limit your applications. This is a great tool for roughing up any areas that will be glued and will ensure a stronger adhesion.
