This is a PDF printable pattern to create a leather Oloid shaped zipper pouch and tabletop fidget.

What is an oloid? An oloid is a unique three-dimensional geometric shape discovered by inventor and mathematician Paul Schatz in 1929. It is formed by taking two identical circles positioned at a right angle to each other, where the center of each circle lies exactly on the perimeter of the other. Even though it appears lopsided, its center of gravity maintains a perfectly constant height as it rolls, creating a fluid, wobble-free motion. Unlike a sphere or cylinder, every point on the surface of an oloid touches the ground as it rolls... but above all it is fun! :)

The Oloid Fidget is a great tabletop toy to take one’s mind off boring conference calls or to play just for fun no matter the age. Sales pitch for leather crafting small businesses: it will be a great eye catcher and conversation starter for markets too, if you leave a couple of those on your display table for customers to play with.

The Oloid Pouch will be spacious enough for small valuables, a full DnD dice set, small cosmetic products, secret stashes etc.

The Pouch

Dimensions: 15/10/10 cm ~ 6/4/4 inches

Skill level: Intermediate

Leather: 1.6-1.8mm (4-4.5oz) thickness, avoid too soft leathers.

Pattern specific hardware/tools: 2mm hole punch & 10cm long #3 open-end zipper

The Fidget

Dimensions: 9/6/6cm ~ 3.5/2.3/2.3 inches

Skill level: Intermediate

Leather: 1.4-1.6mm (3.5-4oz) thickness, avoid too soft leathers.

Pattern specific hardware/tools: 1mm hole punch

Basic Instructions

> Measure and cut on the outside edge of the lines.

> Stitching holes in the pattern are spaced at 4mm, however due to curves and irregular shapes might differ slightly at some spots. Given the nature of the stitch lines, you can use any irons spacing to make the Oloid Pouch & Fidget.

> Please read through the Assembly Instructions file in full before commencing the builds.
