OVERVIEW

This full grain, natural vegetable tanned leather comes from high alpine European cowhides that have less defects due to being raised at higher altitudes where there are less bugs. The hides are tanned by our European partner from top grades 1 and 2, though there can be some neck wrinkles and we are calling it Utility grade. The hides are double shoulders with no bellies so yield is very good. Overall expected yield is 75%+.

This leather great for dying, tooling, stamping, wet molding and more. These hides come in at a great price of approx $7.99/sqft

This leather has a that beautiful natural color that is warm and not too pink. This leather develops one of the most amazing patina as it ages. The leather is naked and is ready to accept dye. It has a nice soft flesh side. This leather has a great feel in the hand and it is easy to cut and skive.

  • Yield: High 75%+, With a natural product like leather, there can be areas with neck and back wrinkles, veins, scars, bites, loose grain, but in general this article can expect an overall high cutting area. Double Shoulders also increase the cutting yield due to having no bellies where most the defects and loose grain are located. If you require large cuts for bigger products like totes, duffles, etc., we recommend whenever possible ordering a full hide. This leather being full aniline (meaning the leather is very natural with no extra finishing on the surface to hide any flaws) A key skill of using full aniline leather is the ability to work less desirable areas of the hide into the less visible areas of your projects.
